Where I've Been

I know, it's a bit predictable to write an apology blog with excuses for why I haven't written anything in so long.  So I'll try to do my best to avoid such boring syllables.

I've been working a lot.  I have a job!  And it's doing what I went to grad school for, counseling!  My clients are 30-some residents and they are family to me.  I look forward to seeing them every day.  In my free time I've managed to somehow set up a web site.  It's an apache download mirror, located at the following address:

http://www.linuxtourist.com

I am planning to carry over some of my campaign promises to this new home of mine regarding mental health information, bad poetry perhaps, political banter, etc, etc.

Oh, and not least of all, and first on the list of fleshing-things-out, I'm writing some basic How-to's to get your very own piece of internet real estate up and running.  You don't need to buy a static IP address or have a fancy server.  All you need is a typical home PC, internet access and some free software I will help you install.  This is something covered elsewhere, but what I aim to do differently is have a series of projects which progress one after the other to build a significant learning experience, some bits and bytes to admire and be proud of as a hobbyist/admin.  Why?  Because it's fun, frustrating, demands patience, keeps me from getting burnt out as a therapist, helps me learn by teaching others-- all of the above.
